The Child Study Center (CSC) provides diagnosis and treatment services to children who have, or are at risk for, developmental disabilities and related behavioral and emotional and dental problems so that these children may achieve their full potential.

Founded in 1962, the CSC is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. Joyce Elizabeth Mauk, MD, President/CEO and Medical Director, directs the CSC and reports to the CSC Board of Directors.

The Center is located at 1300 West Lancaster near downtown Fort Worth in a multipurpose facility that includes medical, psychological and psychiatric treatment areas. The Center also contains a dental clinic, a clinic for the developmental analysis and treatment of premature infants and an educational facility for children with special needs.

Developmental challenges are frequently multi-dimensional; therefore, the staff of the Center focuses on seeing the child in the context of his or her complete environment. Treatment plans are designed to look past a single symptom into the complex whole problem. Frequently, children who come to the Center are placed under the care of a team of parents and specialists which can include not only pediatricians but psychiatrists, psychologists and educators as well.

The goal of the Child Study Center is to ensure that the children who come to the Center for care achieve their full potential.
