Dental
The Dental Clinic at the Child Study Center serves children with developmental or physical disabilities from birth through twenty-one years of age with dental problems .
The purpose of the Dental Clinic is to provide comprehensive dental care, up to and including surgery. The Clinic is a strong advocate for promoting dental hygiene and decreasing dental disease through education of both parent and child.
Poor dentition can impact a child's life in serious ways. The Clinic has treated children whose mouths were so full of abscesses they could not eat. The severe pain affects the children's physical, emotional and educational development. Young teeth are also important in the development of proper speech patterns.
The Dental Clinic is supported by the Fort Worth Dental Society, Texas Department of Health, local dentists who give their time and provide resources, and local pharmaceutical companies that provide assistance through product samples. The Clinic accepts Medicaid, CHIPS and other various insurances for dental coverage.
The Clinic is open 1 day a week from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
